The XI edition of the Festival Internacional Residències de Música de Cambra de Godella, held from 18th to 28th July 2019, paid tribute to the role of women in the history of music. Composers such as Clara Schumann, Fanny Mendelssohn, and Louise Farrenc, as well as contemporary creators like Claudia Montero and Isidora Žebeljan, were featured.

The programme included thematic concerts, intimate recitals, and innovative proposals such as the gastronomic concert dedicated to Rossini. In addition, a Schubertiada “Alla valenciana” was held in honour of the anniversary of Joan Fuster, with the premiere of a work by Daniel Blanco based on the poet’s verses.

The festival also supported the training of young talents through an international chamber music competition and specialised workshops. The closing ceremony featured the Festival Orchestra and choir performing the Choral Suite from Bernstein’s West Side Story.
