Godella Chamber Music Festival 2021

The XIII edition of the Festival Internacional Residències de Música de Cambra de Godella, held from 23rd July to 1st August 2021, focused on cultural resilience and crossbreeding, adapting to the circumstances imposed by the pandemic. The programme included nine concerts that combined classical works with contemporary proposals and cultural fusions.

Highlights included Leticia Moreno’s performance of Bach’s Partita No. 3, followed by a flamenco reinterpretation of Scarlatti’s works by Mauricio Sotelo, with the participation of dancer La Moneta and the Arbós Trio. In addition, the programme featured concerts dedicated to Valencian composers during the war and post-war periods, as well as works by Messiaen and John Williams exploring the relationship between music and spirituality.

The festival also supported the training of young talents through the Chamber Music Course, which culminated in concerts featuring both students and established musicians. The closing concert included a performance of Darius Milhaud’s La Création du Monde by the Festival Orchestra, conducted by Joan Enric Lluna.
